D50 proved far superior in comparison with a bulb having the same CRI, lumens and temperature.

When I compare The D50 (95 CRI, 60w, 800 Lumens, 5000k) bulb against the Philips Ultra Definition (CRI 95, 60w, 800 lumens, 5000k) bulb, both showing in a two-bulb light fixture, the difference is stark. On paper, they should be the same brightness in lumens, the same CRI value, and the same temperature, but in reality, the D50 is very noticeably brighter and shows better color on the art hanging beneath the light fixture. I had doubts about the higher expense, but I want to assure you it is worth it. The D50 is a far superior product and well worth the expense. When I made the comparison, I was shocked at how much better the D50 was. The bulb is not dimmable because it would adversely affect the color-matching feature of the bulb.

What I was looking for --

I have been having trouble checking my black and white images for consistent printing results. Not any more this light works perfectly and just what I needed!

Great high CRI bulb that makes colors pop.

These bulbs are now installed in most of my house, supplanting cheaper and lower CRI bulbs. It is so pleasant to flip them on every evening...I didn't realize how lifeless the other bulbs made everything look. Colors are now distinct and accurate. Great upgrade!
