These are very nice lights. As an artist, I can really notice when a bulb is not full spectrum. These are great. I’ll be getting more soon.
I Purchased these bulbs or use in a photo studio set up. I teach daily online in a basement. The fluorescent lights in the ceiling I made it very difficult for me to teach and gave me headaches. I also had dry eyes. I teach about three hours every morning. When I bought a flicker free monitor and change to this lighting, the headaches are gone and my eyes are doing better. Nice quality light for my interactive online teaching Studio lighting.
Finally, here there are the best led bulbs for filmakers! No more color spikes, no need of gel conversion to get the perfect balance with daylight or tungsten lights. I’m very satisfied, awesome products! Highly recommended.
These bulbs light up our home like sunlight. For the 5600K, I cannot tell the difference between the color of the bulb's light and the light outside the window. The 1 percent flicker translates to a calm feeling compared to other LED and full spectrum CFL bulbs that I tried in adjacent fixtures in our living room. We live in the forest so having excellent lighting inside the house is so important to feeling energized. I also am recovering from symptoms like post concussion syndrome so the lack of flicker feels very calm: calm and bright. I like the 5600K over the considerably bluer 6500K and over the much cooler 3000K, which is ok in the bedside lamp.
Absolutely amazing lights. I have been in the photography industry for over ten years and seen it all. After a lot of research I ended up going with Waveform and glad I did! The skin tones are perfect, it’s almost unreal how accurate this lighting is with color and temperature. Waveform is my new go-to for lighting options. Superior products and excellent customer service. If you’re debating whether to order lighting from these guys, don’t hesitate! You’ll be glad you did!
I've been diagnosed with corneal epithelium basement membrane dystrophy (EBMD). The epithelium is the first layer of the cornea. The membrane on which this layer sits becomes thicker than normal and begins to protrude into the epithelium. Cells of the epithelium break loose, causing painful erosions. Exposure to the Blue light from self-luminous electronic devices (cell phones and monitors) can cause a lot of problems: from eye strain & headaches to diabetes and obesity (The national institute of health has a good report on the effects of blue light on the eye: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6288536/ ). There's no cure for EBMD, so I decided to buy blue filtering eyeglasses to wear while working on the computer.
I also learned that light bulbs simulating sunlight bring relief to the EBMD. A bulb with a minimum of 90 CRI is thought to reproduce sunlight quite satisfactorily. A bulb of 5500K is thought to be an excellent full spectrum light bulb. So I purchased the FilmGrade™ Flicker-Free A19 LED Bulb from Waveform. As soon as I turned my light on, the eye relief was immediate and amazing. I've been advised to work outside in the early morning before the sun reaches high noon and the corneal relief I feel during those hours is the same that I feel with the Waveform light! I'm going to use these light bulbs all the time at my computer work station and might also purchase them for other areas of my house! I certainly encourage everyone who works in front of a computer monitor for many hours, to purchase these bulbs! Furthermore, I've learned that Blue light suppresses melatonin which has been shown to increase the risk of cancer, impair immune system function, and possibly lead to cardiometabolic consequences such as type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, and heart disease. Another reason to use these bulbs!
Visually appealing, does not get too hot, no flicker, daylight color.
Disclaimer: I did not use any equipment to test the color temperature, CRI, wattage, or luminosity of this bulb.
These bulbs are great for a very detailed fill light. They match the photography studio lighting for color and still fit the standard lightbulb socket.
Ordering more after I write this review.
I have recently been getting into photography and video with artificial lighting and stumbled upon Waveform's products. I'm using the 5600k bulb and, as advertised, the bulb does not flicker, even at very high shutter speeds. My RX100m5 goes up to 1/12800 in video mode and I haven't seen any sign of flicker yet.
We ordered some of Waveform's FilmGrade bulbs for a small in-office studio, and while they were sold out when we placed the order, they shipped our package promptly once they had stock. Unfortunately, the package we received didn't include the right color temps we originally ordered, but when I reached out to their support team they had the correct bulbs shipped out same day free of charge and they were in my hands within 3 business days. If there's one thing I know for sure, it's that I'll be outfitting my house with Waveform lights in the future; the daylight bulbs produce an incredibly bright, natural light and I can't wait to try out the tungsten bulbs.
