My flashlight arrived with the springboard unattached to the housing and the spring off-center and poorly soldered to the base.
Despite this, the flashlight functions, with the amount of UV-A exceeding any small flashlight I've previously owned. However, when I removed the battery, the spring has a tendency to roll on its side, and I have to open the housing and carefully reposition the spring prior to installing the battery.
This doesn't seem to be an issue other customers are experiencing, and the flashlight's performance is outstanding; therefore, I'll hope for a quick replacement from the company.
As I suspected, the company quickly took care of the matter by sending a replacement light. Service was immediate and didn't require any begging on my part. A big thanks to Caleb for the quick response and service. Regarding the flashlight: It simply is the best small UVA light I've ever used. It's extremely potent with high-quality glass filtering the majority of visible light, and the inclusion of a battery and charger is a welcome convenience. As others have said, the light is so bright (the UV portion) that--unlike smaller LED UVA lights--any extended use should be done with a pair of protective glasses. Brief illumination of objects that aren't very close should be OK (especially if you wear polycarbonate eyeglasses), but any extended indoor use will result in diffuse and/or reflected UV light causing noticeable eye strain and soreness. I will be looking for some good eye protection so I can use it freely without worry.

Excellent flashlight! Works terrific in our clean room for detecting particles! Lightweight, super bright, and gets the job done!. Will definitely be doing business again
The light came as described and works flawlessly. It is great for studying the florescence of uranium compounds. It has a good build quality and a bright and powerful light. The costumer service is a top notch and responds within minutes of your inquiry. This is an expensive product but for what you get it’s well worth it.
I bought this light to inspect my car engine for pack rats after they destroyed my electrical wiring. I did a lot of research online and decided that I should invest in a good quality light rather than a cheap Amazon job. Like others mention, it's pretty expensive, but I think it's worth the cost. It's built like a tank and the light quality is unbelievable. I recommend this light if you can afford it.
There are warnings I need to make about this light:
1) Get a really good pair of UV protection glasses. This light *will* damage your eyes, so be careful.
2) Do *not* shine this light in your bathroom. Some things cannot be unseen. I'm still afraid to go back in.
Bought several lights over the last year, Convoy S2 Jaxman, Jaxman U1C, COnvoy S2+ Convoy C8.
Light offers little difference than some of the others on the market for 1/2 the cost. I have compared all brands listed above of same specimen. I do not recommend spending the money on this light.
I don't usually write reviews because I've seldom found a product that deserves the additional time from my day. The realUV™ LED Flashlight with BLACKOUT™ Filter Technology was the exception. My 50 year work life centered around nuclear energy, propulsion and electric power generation, where quality and performances were never compromised. Over the years I've used UV lights in many applications and configurations; none of the portable, battery operated lights that passed through my hands come close to the performance of this light. Is it pricey? Yep, but worth every penny and more if you want results. If you want performance and quality you have to pay for it. You get it with this light from Waveform Lighting.
This little light is pretty amazing. The fluorescence of certain objects or elements is on a whole other level with this light. Rocks that barely had any glow to them at all using a regular UV light are crazy bright with colors using this light. This is a very serious light and you need UV blocking eye protection. Shining the light at objects without eye protection will hurt your eyes. Best just to keep the eye protection with the light.
Works well - very bright, the black glass filter is nice to reduce the visible portion of the beam.
